now I want to tell you that advertising in the world of business and big business can be extremely expensive and there are many outlets that seem like they would be a charm to get a person to view your art - but not necessarily - for example - I met by chance one day at a really nice sandwich place in Manhattan (Mange) this fellow who was just starting this system that showed advertisements on different screens in the different parking spaces throughout Manhattan..................................

oh yeah - after my images were all taken down as explained in that blog post that I shared with you earlier - I did not know what to do - about ten years of work - from 2006 to 2016 was gone - disappeared from the Internet - of course I still had all of my files on my computers and hard drives - but man all of that work and all of the loooooooong loooooooong hours - just gone like that - pffff

here is a story - about right outside the front door (approximately) living in New York City 20 minutes outside of Manhattan - there are many museums here that I have often frequented - in 1976 when I was just beginning with my photography business I had secured a client (Ted Lapidus) a French Clothing Store at the corner of 5th Avenue and 53rd Street - first by speaking with the window designer and asking if she needed photographs of her displays - then she showed my work that I had done for her to the President of the company who needed photograph of his store front for the annual report of the company that owned the store at the time in Paris - after I did that assignment the President asked me if I could do fashion - (which was my dream at that point to do) and I said honestly that I had not done any fashion at that point in time but that I would do some and show him - he said good - do some and show me -which I did and then he said well what do the models look like with my clothes on them - *(which means that he was giving me permission to take his clothes and put them on my models and photograph them and so I did:...........................

the most difficult issue to deal with as an artist is not that it may be difficult to sell the work that you have spent time and money creating but that if your art does for some reason (whatever that may be) increase in its value - then what the tax laws - what the intentions of the purchasers are (whether they are collectors or investors) and what country the art is in and that you as an artist is in all might effective the purchaser of your work -................................

things are changing - people no longer need to go to a museum or a gallery or an art fair in order to see the most current - most recently created art - they now are able shop at home on their personal computer - or in their palms with their smart phones and this makes each computer or smart phone into their own private gallery - through the websites that show art online a viewer can become a client instantly - order an artwork in the size and medium that they personally want and by doing this they become co creator of the art that they are purchasing - this makes the art that they have purchased not only valuable because it is what they like but even more unique because it is make to their own personal specifications - and so unlike the perception that many people may have that there are many pieces of the same because many people can purchase the same image online - these pieces purchased according to the specifications of individual purchasers who are co creators of work that they order online are actually unique in that they are made specifically for the person ordering ...........................................
